“Behold the Fisherman
He ariseth early and disturbeth
the entire household
He maketh mighty preparations
And fareth forth full of hope
He returneth late smelling of

fish-In the News
|
17 year old St. Mary's County resident Buddy Fuller now holds the new Maryland record for Spanish mackerel. The new record Spanish weighed in at 8.45 pounds, and measured an incredible 32.5 inches. Buddy was fishing on the charterboat Lisa out of Schieble's Fishing Center on August 16th, 1999 near the Target Ship when the monster Spanish slammed a small, gold, Huntington Drone spoon while trolling by breaking schools of blues, stripers and Spanish mackerel. The fish was checked in at Moeller's Texaco in Lexington Park, Maryland and was certified by DNR Fisheries Service Biologist Brian O'Roark. The previous record was 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was caught by Thomas Boyle off Breezy Point in September of 1998.
