| I thought it would be a good idea to post some more pictures now that we are "semi-settled" and the grass has started to come in good. |

| Can it be? Is it true? That's right, we moved in over the Fourth of July weekend. OK, so we picked the hottest 4 days probably ever experienced -- but we got it done. |
| Entry #15: June 21, 1999 |
| The carpet got rescheduled until this coming Wednesday. There is still a great deal of finish work to be completed, but the electricians and plumbers are most done (except the water is still not on). |

Well, we were hoping to report that we were beginning to get settled in at this point - but that is not the case. The 120-day, never been missed, window of opportunity the builder anticipated came and went yesterday, June 8, 1999. The house has been painted, light fixtures were delivered today, and the carpenters should be done by now. The kitchen cabinets are in and appliances will soon follow. Carpet is scheduled for the 18th and that is one of the last things to be done, so we are getting close. Of course, that could change...stay tuned.

The siding is up, the drywall has been hung and is taped and spackled. Trim work should start today.

| We've got a porch! Plumbing rough-ins are done and inspected, electrical rough-ins are also done and inspected. Now we move onto insulation and drywall. Siding will also start going up this week. We have finalized kitchen plans. The builder estimates that once the drywall is up we are approximately 4 weeks away from completion. |

| The garage and basement slabs have been poured, the rough-in plumbing is complete and electrical rough-in will be finished today. Inspections are scheduled for Wednesday and then sheetrock goes up starting Thursday. The porch should be finished today. Not a lot has changed from the outside view, but we are taking a lot of pictures inside showing where wires and plumbing run. |

The windows and doors are in, the shingles are going up, and plumbing and heating/cooling rough-ins are underway. The fireplace has been installed. We just met with the builder to go over electrical/lighting placements and additions. Backfilling for the foundation is underway and the basement floor has been prepared for pouring.
Next Step: Electrical rough-in beginning next week, backfilling completed and the front porch will be built, roof should be done, and basement floor gets poured. |

The roof trusses are up and the plywood is on the roof. We just went through the color selection process...gray siding, white trim (windows, trim work, porch railings), dark gray shutters, and a medium gray roof.
Next Step: Roof will be finished with tar paper and the rough-ins for heating, plumbing and electric will begin. |

Second floor deck and walls are now in place and the interior first floor walls have been framed. The roof trusses are on site and the double gable for the front of the house has been built.

We have walls! The first floor exterior walls have been framed and the exterior plywood attached. It is starting to look like a house. I assembled two virtual reality panorama image files -- the first is a view of the interior from the kitchen (panning from right to the left shows Carrie standing in the garage, then the dining room, the front door, the living room, and ends in the family room where you can see the fireplace area built into the wall and the two windows that will frame it). The second panorama image file shows the back of the house (you can see the basement walkout sliding glass door, the family room atrium door, and the sliding glass door in the breakfast nook).
Next Step: A roof system over the garage and kitchen, the second floor deck is built and walls for the second floor. |

| Very little to report. Apparently, the builder's estimate that the wall and roof trusses (see Entry #4 & #5) would be in place last week were too ambitious. Due to the heavy rains they were waiting for a drying period to backfill the foundation. Since this has not happened, we were told today that walls will begin tomorrow and they will backfill the foundation when possible. |
| Entry #5: March 17, 1999 (Floor Plans) |
I scanned some rough sketches of the floor plans. There are three all together; the 1st floor, 2nd floor, and basement.
Next Step: We were told that by this weekend walls should be framed and the beginnings of the roof system will be place. |

The first floor decking is in place so you can begin to get a real feel for what the finished space will be like. I took the panorama image shots from about where the dining room will be. From left to right will be the living room, then the family room on the far back corner (where the fireplace will be), then the breakfast nook, and lastly the kitchen behind the garage.
Next Step: Framing for the first floor walls will begin. |

The footers for the foundation have been poured. This week's panorama was shot from just beyond the far corner of the house towards the back. This will be the approximate location of the sliding glass door for the walk-out basement. For reference, last week's panorama was shot from about where you see the truck in this shot. I've also included a couple of independent still shots, one of the footers from above and the other from near where the trees are piled toward the back of the lot -- or the "backyard." I also created a panorama from the middle of the cul-de-sac showing the front of the lot from the street.
Next Step: begin the foundation. |

We broke ground February 8, 1999 by clearing the lot and placing the driveway and house. The hole for the foundation has been dug.
Next Step: dig the footers and begin the foundation. |
